About Jeff Arrandale

Jeff Arrandale is a Christ-following worship artist who loves to serve with and encourage the body of Christ. He admits that only by the grace of God is he allowed to lead worship at his local church and has been doing so since 2000. He has also been writing songs that are used by God both inside and outside of worship. His desire is to point people to the One True God while encouraging and challenging those who follow and those who don’t yet follow Christ.

Jeff released two independent group projects prior to signing with Century Music Group, who he signed with in the Summer of 2010. The first, called Certainty, was released in 2004, and was produced by Steve Hudspeth of Tiller Productions. It was recorded with the group Jeff helped found called Romansroad. All of the songs on this project except one were written by Jeff, and he also had his first experience of in-studio co-authorship of a song. “It was fun to come in with an idea that others took an interest in,” says Jeff, “then to watch God lead in the song taking shape and to be finalized and recorded within a short period of time.”

The compilation of songs on Certainty encourages listeners to walk in the Spirit every day even while dealing with earthly matters, to allow God to spiritually purify as His face is sought after, to put away pride for the One who died, to expectantly seek His face, and recognize that each day is new, made by Him.

Jeff’s next project, released in 2009, was recorded with the group Certainty, who took their name from the title song of the previous album. It was also produced by Steve Hudspeth. “This five-song EP is called Our Praise,” says Jeff, “and includes songs that were written after some heartbreaking episodes which were followed by God’s restorative love.” It was a time of spiritual challenge and growth in Jeff’s life. He says, “All the glory goes to God for what He did in me during that time.”

Jeff says the guys in the band helped him walk through the process and encouraged him to not give up the use of the talent God provided. The EP was recorded as a live, in-studio performance with few overdubs and its sound is heavily influenced by Ben Hennessee’s blues and rock guitar. Jeff still performs with Certainty and says, “These guys are my brothers in arms and I’d go into battle with and for any of them.”

Jeff’s latest recording, to be released in late Summer/early Fall 2011, was recorded in Nashville as his first solo project. It features remakes of earlier songs as well as new songs. “To see the remakes take on a new life through what God did with the in-studio talents of Billy, Dug, Art, Dennis, and Pat was refreshing and exciting at the same time.” One of the songs, Strange Place, was written prior to and during his Fall 2010 trip to SE Asia and is meant to encourage all who radically follow the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 16-20). It also is heavily influenced by Jeff’s change in perspective as to what the passage means. “We are all called to ‘go.’ For some that means dropping everything and going with only a trust that God will provide and use. For others who can’t go, it means to be a sender, one who radically supports the goers.”

Jeff says his favorite new song on the latest project is called Not Here for Me. It’s about being a true worshipper of God, one who shows their love of and for Him regardless of the situation. “Each of us has a different walk, and God is in the midst of each one. That means whether we are in the midst of a euphoric ‘high,’ or in the depths of sorrow, or sickness, or pain, or shame, we still have a God Who loves us, and Who is worthy of us giving our all to Him. Even when we can’t stand on our own, when we totally depend on Him to hold us up (which He wants all the time), we still should use all our strength to rejoice in His holiness, His worthiness, His sovereignty.”

Jeff plans to continue performing with Certainty and to also undertake more solo opportunities to share his talents and love of God.
