Straight out of high school married in the fall
The whole town turned out said we had it all

We bought a small farm in the middle of nowhere

Well that first year was crazy – the crops never came
If it wasn’t for the dry spell I’d have been the one to blame
And those bills were piling up higher than the sugar cane.
