Just Say The Word – Lee Gibson ©2011
Never one to leap before I looked
Only God above could know the time I took
To make up my mind on a matter of this kind
You’d think by now I could’ve wrote a book.
She was ready – Maybe I was, too.
Instead of stepping up, Lord, I sat there like a fool.
These decisions that we make, well, they require a leap of faith.
If you’ve ever been in love you’ve been there, too.
But I waited – hesitated, ‘til I just don’t know
If we’ll make it into next year or 5 days down the road
If I knew then what I know now no doubt I’d had the nerve
And all I had to do was say the word
You always think you have an extra day
How was I to know she’d slip away
When love is masked with fear & all she wants to hear
Are the simple words you were too scared to say
But I waited – hesitated, ‘til I just don’t know
If we’ll make it into next year or 5 days down the road
If I knew then what I know now no doubt I’d had the nerve
And all I had to do was say the word
If I knew then what I know now no doubt I’d had the nerve
And all I had to do was say the word
All I had to do…

My Country Song – Ashley Ramps, Lee Gibson ©2011
Summer days & John Deere tractors
Front porch swings & ever afters sounds good
Her sweet arms holdin on to me
Sittin’ beneath a cottonwood tree sounds good
Just another song on the radio
Taking me to that place I want to go
Chorus:
4-wheel drives & sweet ice tea
Red dirt roads, just my baby and me
Nowhere to go and all day to get there
Lookin’ at her, caught her looking at me
So in love just the way it should be
Acting like we didn’t have a care
Where nothing can go wrong
I was living a country song
Cloudless nights & big bright stars
George Strait songs on my guitar sound good
Holding hands in the back of my truck
Our first kiss with any luck sounds good
Just another song on the radio
Taking me to that place I want to go
Repeat Chorus
We all know that’s one big fantasy
Then I wake up to what’s in front of me.
Empty house where we once loved
Broken dreams – was I not enough
Nowhere to go and all day to get there.
Pictures of us laying on the floor
Memories of you walking out the door
Acting like you never even cared
Who knew all along I was living my country song
Who knew all along I was living my country song

Long Slow Night – Cory Lee Barker, Lee Gibson ©2011
I’m up at 6 am on the road by 7:30
Weavin’ through a traffic jam with my lead foot in a hurry
Boss man is on my case from the moment I walked in
He’l probably stay right there till I clock out again
It’s never good enough – always somthin’ wrong
This day won’t ever stop – it just keeps draggin’ on
CHORUS
I’m ready for a LONG SLOW NIGHT
Walk n the door and hold you tight
Get back to us – Baby we can let let love
Take it’s own sweet time…are you ready for a
LONG SLOW NIGHT
Deadlines are pile’n up – my patience wearin’ down
Stress is the only thing – I can wrap my arms around
From 8 till 5pm – it’s all that I can do
To pretend I give a damn – about anything but you
Don’t mind to pull my weight – but I’ve waited way to long
The clock don’t know it yet – but I’m already gone
BRIDGE
When that ol’ sun goes down all I wanna find
Is my self getting lost – lost in your eyes

Rodeo – Lee Gibson ©2011
Sit alone at a coffee shop
wondering if I should leave
Should I make that phone call
or just get some sleep
I know that she’ll be worried.
That’s how it’s always been.
I’m on the road for two more days
Heading for Cheyenne.
Chorus:
On the road for too damned long
The boys they wait for me to use the phone
Just need to hear some lovin’ words from home, ya see
I hate the road, but it’s the rodeo for me.
Singing loud with the window down
Barely still awake
That diesel whines and I’ll be fine
When I see daybreak.
Those Western skies on cloudless nights
Can chill you to the bone
Lord, let me win this rodeo
So I can get back home.
Repeat Chorus (solo, repeat Chorus, tag)

Not Without A Fight – Lee Gibson ©2011
11 o’clock and you’re still on the phone
Trying to figure out where you went wrong
And wondering if you did all you could(if you’re close to the end)
Fighting like hell not to hear “goodbye”
Knowing tonight you’re gonna have a good cry
If you hold on and she lets go for good (again)
Chorus:
But I’m not gonna go that far
I’m not getting in my car
I’m not running away from the best thing that I know
I’m not hanging up the phone
And I’m not letting go
I’ve done it before but baby not to night
Not without a fight
I never meant to make you feel
Like what you’d want wouldn’t matter to me
It’s not like this is some kinda 1-night fling.
I was wrong and I admit it
Can’t believe you’re ready to quit
And throw in the towel like
This don’t mean a thing
Repeat Chorus
We both know a love like this worth another try
I know in my heart it’s one of a kind
Repeat Chorus

40 Acres – Lee Gibson, Ronnie Palmer, Megan Manly, BMI ©2006
Straight out of high school married in the fall
The whole town turned out said we had it all
I was your captain, You were my queen.
We bought a small farm in the middle of nowhere
Didn’t have a clue what we were doing there
All by our lonesome in Athens, Tennessee.
John Deere can’t pull us out of this hole.
There ain’t a combine that can reap what we’ve sewn.
We just keep plowing through and never gaining ground
We’ll need more than 40 acres to turn this thing around
Well that first year was crazy – the crops never came
If it wasn’t for the dry spell I’d have been the one to blame
And those bills were piling up higher than the sugar cane.
John Deere can’t pull us out of this hole.
There ain’t a combine that can reap what we’ve sewn.
We just keep plowing through and never gaining ground
We’ll need more than 40 acres to turn this thing around
Whatever happened to all of our dreams
Just a year ago we were busting at the seams
The only thing that we’ve grown
is the distance between you and me.
John Deere can’t pull us out of this hole.
There ain’t a combine that can reap what we’ve sewn.
We just keep plowing through and never gaining ground
We’ll need more than 40 acres to turn this thing around
